See original article: Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson bizarrely blames Richard Nixon for surging gun violence
Last weekend 19 people were killed and more than 100 injured by gun violence in Chicago.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson announced he would do everything possible to curb Chicago’s overwhelming gun crime and violence.
Just kidding! He blamed it on someone else:
Former President Richard Nixon. Nixon, a Republican, resigned the presidency in disgrace 50 years ago and died 31 years ago. If you’re less than 50 years old you might not know anything about him.
Doesn’t matter to Mayor Johnson:
“Black death has been unfortunately been accepted in this country for a very long time,” Johnson said at a press conference to discuss Chicago’s gun violence. “We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes. And people mocked President Johnson, and we ended up with Richard Nixon.”
Johnson likes to blame others for Chicago’s problems. He threw former Mayor Lori Lightfoot under the bus for the city’s migrant problems, even though he’s been in office for a year now. But this is a stretch even for him.
So far he hasn’t elaborated on his accusation. Me, I’m not holding my breath. Let’s go, Brandon!
Congratulations to Brandon Johnson, today’s Daily Duh Award winner!
